01Custom Page Engine

Native Direct-Drive, Millisecond Response

Traditional automation relies on injected scripts or external protocols, suffering severe latency and fragile sync. WebCross embeds its execution core directly into a custom page engine, rebuilding the control pipeline so agent actions take effect as instantaneously as human input.

  • Commands reach the render pipeline directly — no injected scripts
  • Zero protocol translation or RPC round trips, eliminating idle latency
  • Instant response on complex chains, speeding up workflows by 3×+

02Page understanding

See the whole page. Go straight to the target.

One observation builds a clear view of the current page, bringing visible content, control states, and page relationships into focus. Changes are called out clearly; important elements open for closer inspection only when needed.

  • The page overview presents content, controls, relationships, and visible scope, with complete or partial coverage made clear
  • Each element has a stable locator; being locatable never implies it can be acted on, and state and visibility remain distinct
  • Page changes stay visible; text, attributes, or state are opened only for identified elements

03Control & governance

Every action leaves proof. Critical steps stay yours.

Every page action is recorded by task and time. Method, purpose, status, and reviewable input, result, or error summaries stay together in one evidence chain, so you can trace, intervene in, and continue critical work.

  • Actions, tasks, statuses, and time stay grouped by page, with history available in either direction
  • Expand a record to review purpose, input, result, or error summary, keeping important work evidence-based
  • Human confirmation marks the pause point clearly; after confirmation, a task can continue, be cancelled, or retried

04Dedicated Harness

Experience Distillation

Say goodbye to the repetitive overhead of exploring pages from scratch every time. WebCross captures the validated paths agents discover during complex interactions, distilling them into deterministic experience and reusable workflows — compounding know-how so repeat runs jump straight to critical steps, running faster and leaner.

  • Interactive exploration automatically distills into reusable assets
  • Experience reuse jumps straight to key steps, skipping trial and error
  • Distilled assets can be saved, composed, and reused across workflows
Run the task → distill a Workflow → reuse in one click

Environment Matrix

Enterprise-grade automation demands airtight environment isolation. WebCross builds a dedicated, clean runtime environment for each task instance — physically isolating device characteristics, network channels, and session storage to keep concurrent multi-business operations completely unentangled and controlled.

  • Independent environment profiles prevent cross-talk in concurrent tasks
  • Session storage and local caches physically segregated for clean isolation
  • One-click template binding gets fleet matrices ready in seconds

06Compliance Governance

Human-AI Co-Governance

True automation never means giving up supervision. WebCross champions a shared governance model: agents power through routine, high-volume operational paths, while sensitive payments, 2FA verifications, and key decisions are handed to humans for confirmation — preserving full execution state to strike the ideal balance of safety and autonomy.

  • Sensitive checkpoints request human oversight automatically with clear accountability
  • Task context preserves in place to resume seamlessly once verified
  • Co-management records leave a clear trail for auditable human–agent interactions

Token and timing figures are order-of-magnitude comparisons drawn from public evaluations and vendor documentation (WebVoyager, Online-Mind2Web, OSWorld-Human), not measurements on identical hardware; real values shift with the model, the page and task complexity.

FAQ

The questions we get asked most

Ten answers, from how execution works to where your data ends up.

What is WebCross?

WebCross is an agent browser built for web automation. Powered by a dedicated page engine, it lets your agent take tasks in plain language and handle tedious web work for you — price patrols, bulk form filing, cross-platform collection, and engagement. Everything runs in the background: fast, token-efficient, and out of your way; account use and task activity stay clear and manageable.

Unlike conventional browsers, WebCross is designed for agent drive with a dedicated page engine: instructions reach the rendering pipeline directly, rather than through a JavaScript adapter bolted onto stock Chrome.

How is this different from Playwright or Puppeteer?

Playwright and Puppeteer are automation libraries you embed in code, and they drive the page through CSS selectors. The moment a site changes its DOM the script can break, and every step has to be written by hand.

WebCross adopts a dedicated page engine direct-drive approach instead:

  • Built directly on a dedicated page engine, instructions reach the rendering pipeline with zero external JS adapters or RPC round trips, making the same task chain over 3× faster end to end;
  • One observation creates a versioned page overview with content, control state, page relationships, and visible scope; page changes are called out, and only identified elements open text, attributes, or state for closer inspection;
  • A task in plain language is enough to run it — no script to write.
How is this different from Browser Use, Claude for Chrome and other AI browsers?
  • Execution environment: most comparable tools add an extension or an adapter layer on top of stock Chrome, so every step pays a round trip. WebCross drives page elements directly via its dedicated page engine.
  • Token cost: comparable tools routinely spend six figures of tokens on a single task (Browser Use around 120–220k per task, Perplexity Comet six figures per task, Claude for Chrome 1k+ Token, 1–3 s). Versioned page overviews, page changes, element detail, and workflow reuse reduce repeated exploration and context; actual savings depend on the task and page state.
  • Control & governance: WebCross supports isolated account sessions, auditable run records, and human takeover at sensitive steps so critical tasks stay visible and manageable.
  • Account safety: custom fingerprints and a switchable IP pool, so concurrent accounts never cross.
  • Human-AI co-governance: manual review on 2FA/captchas, resumes from breakpoint without restarting.

The comparison table above sets WebCross against legacy RPA (UiPath, Yingdao), Claude for Chrome, Perplexity Comet, Browser Use and Browserbase across eight dimensions.

How do I get started?

In WebCross Harness

  1. Give it a task: type your first task into the console in plain language — say, “patrol the top 30 power banks on Amazon and pull url, title, price, rating and the 30 worst reviews” — and the agent opens the page, searches, clicks, scrapes, tidies up and exports locally, all on its own.
  2. Distil a Workflow: When the task is complete, turn its validated execution flow into a reusable Workflow.
  3. Reuse the Workflow: When you run the same or a similar task again, reuse the verified Workflow to skip page exploration and follow the validated path straight to the critical steps. The context saved varies with the task and page state.

With a third-party agent (Claude Code, Codex, …)

Install the WebCross Skill locally when launching the app or from Settings. Once it is installed, agents with Skills support—including Claude Code and Codex—recognize WebCross automatically and can use it directly. No manual copying or pasting of Skill files, and no SDK integration, is required.

How does WebCross save tokens?

Token savings come from reading only the page information that matters:

  • Page overview: content, controls, state, relationships, and visible scope are gathered into a clear view of the current page while irrelevant rendering noise is filtered out;
  • Page changes: only changed information is supplied, avoiding repeated reads of the same facts;
  • Element detail: text, attributes, or state open only for identified elements; completeness, failures, and truncation stay explicit;
  • Workflow reuse: a validated workflow skips repeated exploration and reuses the path that matters; savings vary with the task and page state.
How do my accounts and task activity stay under control while the agent works?

WebCross combines environment isolation, traceable activity, and human takeover to keep critical tasks under your control:

  • Credentials and cookie sessions are managed in isolated task instances;
  • Run records can be retained, audited, and reviewed;
  • Critical steps such as CAPTCHAs, 2FA, and payment confirmation can be confirmed by a person before the task continues;
  • The skills and workflows you distil can be saved, reused, and managed.
What happens at a captcha, a 2FA prompt or a payment confirmation?

WebCross automatically raises a takeover card at these moments: the task pauses in place at the breakpoint, and the moment you complete verification, the agent immediately resumes background execution from that exact point. The entire task chain never needs a restart, and other concurrent instances are completely unaffected. The takeover activity leaves a clear trail for later review and management.

I run several accounts at once — will the platform link them?

Every instance gets a fingerprint of its own:

  • User agent, timezone, fonts, canvas and GPU fingerprints are each configurable;
  • The IP pool can be switched at any time, one fingerprint and one exit IP per instance;
  • Sessions are fully isolated, so concurrent accounts never cross;
  • Fingerprint templates can be copied and rolled out in bulk.

Multi-store commerce and multi-account social management can both run concurrently without worry.

Do repeat tasks start from scratch and spend tokens all over again?

No. Anything you have run through WebCross Harness can be distilled into a dedicated workflow and saved as a reusable asset. The next identical or similar task reuses that verified workflow instead, skipping exploration and going straight to the steps that matter. Actual context and token savings depend on the task and page state, and the asset remains reusable across tasks. For high-frequency tasks like patrolling a thousand product links a day or listing a hundred SKUs, once the core flow is worked out it can be reused at scale.

Which platforms are supported, and what does it cost?
  • Platforms: macOS 13.0+ and Windows 10 / 11+ are supported.
  • Price: every feature is free during the public beta.
  • Getting started: install it, grant the accessibility and automation permissions the system asks for, then type your first plain-language task into the console.
